Giráldez’s role has been crucial in securing this deal, and teammates Hugo Sotelo and Damián, both central midfielders, will also extend their contracts until 2028.
Álvarez has had an impressive start to the season at Balaídos, starting seven of Celta’s nine matches and appearing in all of them. He has contributed a goal and an assist, and his strong performances have earned him a call-up to Spain’s under-21 squad during this international break.
