Arsenal legend Paul Merson has confidently predicted a resounding victory for the Gunners over Manchester United in their Premier League clash at the Emirates on Wednesday night.

Arsenal Riding High
Merson, speaking to Sportskeeda, emphasized Arsenal’s scintillating form. The Gunners have notched up three consecutive wins across all competitions, scoring an impressive 13 goals during this streak.
“I don’t see anything but an Arsenal win here,” Merson declared. “It will be comfortable and easy. I’d even go three or four nil to Arsenal in this one; they will destroy Manchester United.”
United’s New Manager Bounce Questioned
While United are experiencing a boost under new manager Ruben Amorim—highlighted by their emphatic 4-0 victory over Everton—Merson remains unconvinced by their consistency.
“We shouldn’t get carried away by that Manchester United win against Everton. I watched them against Bodo/Glimt, and they weren’t great,” he added.
“Ipswich were also by far the better team during Amorim’s first game in charge.”
Key Arsenal Strengths
Merson highlighted Arsenal’s exceptional work on set-pieces as a critical factor.
“Arsenal work day in and day out on their set-pieces, and it’s clearly showing this season. It’s not just luck that they are scoring so much from such situations,” he said.
A Glimmer of Hope for United?
The one factor Merson believes could work in United’s favor is the absence of Arsenal’s Lisandro Martinez. With Harry Maguire expected to deputize, Merson acknowledged the England defender’s prowess in defending set-pieces.
However, he argued that United are still a work in progress under Amorim, while Arsenal have a clear and cohesive game plan under Mikel Arteta.
Scoreline Prediction
Merson wrapped up his prediction by stating:
“I don’t see any other result than an Arsenal win, but I will go kind on the scoreline. Arsenal 3-0 Manchester United.”
With Arsenal flying high and United still finding their feet under Amorim, all eyes will be on this much-anticipated Premier League showdown.
