Softfootball has gathered that Alphonso Davies suffered another muscular injury during Bayern Munich’s emphatic 6-1 victory over Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League on March 10, 2026.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on his official X handle, the club is set to assess his conditions.

The Canadian left-back had only recently returned to action after recovering from a hamstring problem sustained during Bayern’s 3–2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in February. His latest setback raises fresh concerns for the German champions, especially as Davies had just regained fitness following earlier injury scare.

Romano stated:

Alphonso Davies has suffered a new injury and will be out, with Bayern set to assess his conditions — club confirms. Bayern do not anticipate anything serious for Jamal Musiala, both Kompany and director Eberl say.

The injury continues a difficult run for the 25-year-old, whose season has already been disrupted by several physical setbacks.

Meanwhile, teammate Jamal Musiala was seen training normally alongside Bayern manager Vincent Kompany, suggesting that his recent issue is minor and largely precautionary.

Davies’ recurring injury problems have become a growing concern for Bayern, particularly after the defender previously endured a serious ACL and MCL injury while on international duty with Canada national soccer team in March 2025. That long rehabilitation already kept him sidelined for several months.

His pace and attacking threat from left-back remain crucial to Bayern’s style of play, with data indicating he contributes significantly to the team’s attacking transitions and chance creation.

With Bayern pushing for success in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League knockout stages, the club will now be hoping the latest injury is not another lengthy setback.
