Gian Piero Gasperini’s side took the lead early when Charles De Ketelaere out-jumped Theo Hernandez to head in Marten de Roon’s precise free kick.
AC Milan responded just 10 minutes later through a brilliant play down the left flank. Rafael Leao beat the offside trap to deliver a perfect cross into the box, allowing Alvaro Morata to slot home the equalizer.
However, with just three minutes left on the clock, Lookman delivered the decisive moment. Rising to meet a well-placed cross, the 27-year-old powered a header into the back of the net, sealing a vital victory for Atalanta.
Reflecting on the win, Lookman expressed pride in his team’s performance. “It’s a very important game against a very strong team that is doing well in the league,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “We performed well tonight, three big points, and we continue like this.”
He emphasized the importance of maintaining their momentum. “I think we just continue to play the way we play, match by match. We believe in ourselves as a team, so we continue like this and stay together.”
Lookman’s stellar form has been a crucial factor in Atalanta’s success this season. The Nigerian international has now registered 10 goals and 5 assists in 17 appearances across all competitions for La Dea.
