The Red Devils struggled defensively, with a key mistake by goalkeeper Andre Onana drawing sharp criticism from former Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp.
Redknapp described Onana’s error, which allowed Morgan Gibbs-White to score, as “fundamentally bad goalkeeping.”
Despite Rasmus Hojlund and Bruno Fernandes finding the net for United, Forest capitalized on errors to secure their seventh Premier League win this season.
Redknapp Critiques Onana’s Goalkeeping
Morgan Gibbs-White’s second-half strike, which wrong-footed Onana, proved decisive. Jamie Redknapp said, “You can’t defend him. He was falling backward with poor balance. It’s really bad goalkeeping.”
Ex-United defender Phil Jones, however, defended Onana, noting that while the mistake was costly, the keeper has been “terrific” throughout the season.
Amorim Backs Onana Despite Errors
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim showed confidence in Onana, reminding reporters of the goalkeeper’s heroics in earlier matches.
