The 21-year-old has yet to make a Premier League appearance this season, featuring instead in Chelsea’s Conference League campaign and contributing to the 5-0 victory over Barrow in the Carabao Cup.

However, Casadei has struggled to break into Chelsea’s preferred Premier League midfield lineup, where Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, and Romeo Lavia have been prioritized under manager Enzo Maresca.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea and Monza are rapidly progressing in their negotiations for a six-month loan deal.

The Italian club is eager to register Casadei as soon as the transfer window opens on January 2, enabling him to feature in their fixture against Cagliari just three days later.

Casadei, who spent last season on loan at Leicester City under Maresca’s guidance, has also been encouraged to seek regular playing time by Italy Under-21 coach Carmine Nunziata.

Speaking in October, Nunziata emphasized the importance of consistent game time for young players: “Last year, Cesare had a good spell with Leicester, but at Chelsea, he’s played little.

If things don’t change by January, it’s right for him to look elsewhere. Playing regularly is essential, whether in Italy or abroad.”

Monza’s interest could offer Casadei a chance to reinvigorate his career while gaining valuable experience in Serie A.

Both clubs appear eager to finalize the deal quickly, potentially providing a fresh start for the talented midfielder.
