The Brazilian has been sidelined with a muscle injury, missing the Gunners’ last three games.

Arteta had kept quiet about the defender’s status, but during the pre-match press conference ahead of their 3-0 win over Monaco, it was revealed that Gabriel’s return to action might come against the Toffees.

As the injury list grows, Jakub Kiwior has stepped up in Gabriel’s absence, playing as a centre-back.

Meanwhile, 18-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly earned his spot at left-back during the Monaco clash, where he played a key role in Bukayo Saka’s first goal.

With Riccardo Calafiori and Oleksandr Zinchenko’s availability still uncertain, Myles could continue his involvement against Everton.

Reflecting on the debut of the young academy talent, Arteta expressed his pride, saying, “It’s a proud moment.

Myles is one of our own, only 18, and he made his Champions League start. He’s a joy to watch.”

Arteta was impressed with Myles’ performance, adding that his readiness to step up was evident since pre-season, showcasing his comfort and capability at such a high level. “He’s at that level,” Arteta affirmed.
