The Nigerian international has already scored five goals in 15 Premier League appearances, making him Fulham’s joint-top scorer this term.
At 28, Iwobi has matched his best tally from the previous season, highlighting the transformative influence of Silva’s leadership on his game.
Iwobi’s Standout Season
Reflecting on his achievements, Iwobi shared his excitement over his current form. “You could say it is my best start to the season – I just have to keep it going and make sure it’s my best season,” he told the Standard.
Silva’s motivational approach and encouragement have played a key role in Iwobi’s improved confidence and consistency.
Iwobi also credited the manager for fostering a positive environment that allows players to recover from mistakes and thrive. “If I do make a mistake, I can go again. It’s nice to have a manager who gives you the confidence to do that,” Iwobi stated. He noted how confidence, both on and off the pitch, has made him feel “unstoppable.”
A Unified Fulham Team
Beyond personal accolades, Iwobi emphasized Fulham’s strong team spirit under Silva. “The main thing is that there’s no egos. Everyone treats each other the same way. There are no stars,” he explained.
The camaraderie extends beyond the training ground, with players frequently bonding over meals and trips.
Iwobi shared how such efforts have unified the squad, enhancing their performance on the pitch. “It’s like one big family. We feel like we’re ready to fly and we can do anything together,” he added.
