Carragher Criticizes Rashford’s Performances

Carragher questioned Rashford’s contribution over the past 18 months, pointing out his poor scoring record—just 11 goals in 48 league games.

“For someone aged 27, in his prime, these numbers are simply not good enough,” Carragher wrote in The Telegraph. He believes Rashford’s struggles and failure to fulfill his early promise make him unsuitable as United’s leading attacker.

The pundit also suggested that Rashford’s lucrative contract doesn’t reflect his performances, adding, “United should sell him as he isn’t delivering value.”

Carragher stressed that Amorim needs to revamp the squad to achieve success, and offloading players like Rashford could provide the financial flexibility required to secure key signings.

United’s Need for a Fresh Start

Carragher emphasized the importance of restructuring under Amorim, claiming United will not win the Premier League or Champions League with Rashford as their primary attacker.

He stated, “There’s been too much of a pantomime surrounding Rashford, and it’s clear United need a fresh start.”

As Manchester United explores transfer options, Amorim faces the challenge of balancing squad depth with trimming high wages. Rashford’s future remains uncertain, but his departure could signal a new era for the Red Devils under Amorim’s leadership.
