The 31-year-old recently left Juventus and will return to action in March after his doping ban was reduced to 18 months following an appeal.
City, struggling with injuries this season, particularly in central midfield without Rodri, are keen on Pogba, with Pep Guardiola a long-time admirer of the French World Cup winner.
However, the move is complicated by Pogba’s previous ties to United. Back in 2018, Guardiola disclosed that City had been offered the chance to sign Pogba from United.
Pogba, who moved to Old Trafford in 2016 for a world-record £89 million, played there until his departure to Juventus in 2022 on a free transfer.
Recently, Pogba has also been linked with other clubs, including Marseille, the Saudi Pro League, and Inter Miami in the MLS.
Marseille’s Adrien Rabiot encouraged Pogba to consider Ligue 1, praising his talent and potential comeback.
On social media, Pogba hinted at a football return, sharing a post featuring an hourglass and a zipped face emoji.
