Manchester United fans believe club icon David Beckham took aim at Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho after their thrilling 2-1 comeback victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

United snatched a dramatic win against their rivals on Sunday, thanks to Amad Diallo’s stunning late heroics. Josko Gvardiol’s first-half header appeared to seal the points for Pep Guardiola’s side, who controlled much of the game.

However, Diallo turned the tide in the final moments—winning a penalty that Bruno Fernandes converted in the 88th minute before scoring the match-winner himself.

While the result brought joy to United supporters, it also fueled discussions around Rashford and Garnacho, who were conspicuously absent from the squad.

Manager Ruben Amorim had earlier cited concerns about their training standards, team engagement, and overall professionalism, stating that “performance in training, the way you dress, eat, and push your teammates” matters.

Following the derby win, Beckham posted on Instagram: “And the rebuild begins. Big win. Big team win with players who wanna wear the jersey.”

The comment quickly sparked speculation, with fans interpreting it as a pointed message toward the dropped duo.

United supporters didn’t hold back on social media. One fan wrote, “We know who Beckham is jabbing,” while another asked Rashford and Garnacho directly, “Message received?”

Reports suggest the two stars trained separately at Carrington on Sunday morning while their teammates prepared for the derby.

Rashford’s omission also adds weight to rumors that Manchester United could be open to selling the academy graduate in January.

Ex-striker Clinton Morrison weighed in on BBC Radio 5 Live, supporting Amorim’s stance: “If you’re not training well enough, it’s disrespectful. You have to train like it’s your last session.”

With a Carabao Cup semi-final spot on the line against Tottenham on Thursday, the pressure remains high for United and their sidelined stars.

Whether Rashford and Garnacho respond to Beckham’s supposed dig remains to be seen.
