Atalanta and UEFA have congratulated Ademola Lookman after he was crowned the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year at a ceremony in Marrakech, Morocco, on Monday.

Lookman claimed the prestigious award ahead of notable contenders including Achraf Hakimi, Serhou Guirassy, Simon Adingra, and Ronwen Williams.
This marks a significant moment for Nigerian football, as he succeeds his compatriot Victor Osimhen, who won the award in 2023.
Atalanta took to their official X handle to celebrate their star forward, posting: “Lookman is the @CAF_Online Men’s Player of the Year.”
UEFA also joined in on the praise via their Champions League X handle, writing: “Ademola Lookman = 2024 Men’s Player of the Year!”
With this victory, Lookman becomes the sixth Nigerian to win the CAF Player of the Year award.
He joins an elite list that includes Rashidi Yekini, Emmanuel Amuneke, Nwankwo Kanu, Victor Ikpeba, and Victor Osimhen.
Lookman’s remarkable achievement further cements his status as one of Africa’s brightest football talents and a key figure for both Atalanta and the Super Eagles.
