Jamie Carragher has delivered a bold Premier League prediction, claiming Chelsea’s title challenge might collapse despite their impressive revival under Enzo Maresca.

Currently just two points behind leaders Liverpool, Chelsea have enjoyed a remarkable turnaround. Maresca, who arrived from Leicester City in the summer, has guided the Blues to seven consecutive wins across all competitions.

Their latest triumph, a 2-1 victory over Brentford, has solidified their position as genuine title contenders.

However, Carragher remains unconvinced. Speaking on Sky Sports, he highlighted concerns about Chelsea’s defense and goalkeeper, which he believes could undermine their campaign.

“They’re absolutely in the title race, but I don’t see Chelsea winning the league this season,” Carragher explained. “In comparison to Arsenal and Liverpool, their centre-backs and goalkeeper just don’t measure up.

To win a title, you need a top goalkeeper and two solid centre-backs. Chelsea lacks that strength, though their lighter schedule may help them stay competitive.”

Chelsea’s run has been overshadowed by an off-pitch controversy involving Mykhailo Mudryk.

The club confirmed an “adverse finding” in the winger’s urine sample from a routine FA test.

In a statement, Chelsea said: “The FA recently contacted Mykhailo Mudryk regarding an adverse finding.

Both the club and the player fully support the FA’s testing program and are cooperating to resolve this matter.

Mykhailo categorically denies knowingly using any banned substances.”

Mudryk also expressed his shock via Instagram, emphasizing his innocence and commitment to clearing his name.

“I’ve never knowingly used any banned substances and am working with my team to find out what caused this result,” he wrote.

While Chelsea’s progress is undeniable, Carragher’s doubts and Mudryk’s ongoing case add a layer of uncertainty to their ambitious season.
