Haaland, who joined City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, has been a dominant force in the league.
The Norwegian sensation scored 36 goals in his debut season and already has 13 this term. However, his recent dip in form—just one goal in his last five games—has coincided with City’s struggles.
Meanwhile, Isak has been on fire, scoring six goals in his last eight league matches, including a standout performance in Newcastle’s 4-0 demolition of Leicester City.
Impressed by the Swede’s form, Redknapp declared, “Alexander Isak is a top, top striker. He’s probably the best in the Premier League right now,” during his analysis for Bet victor.
The 25-year-old’s impressive performances have made him a hot commodity. Despite being under contract with Newcastle until 2028, Isak has been linked with potential moves, with Arsenal among the interested clubs.
Former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson also praised Isak, lamenting the Gunners’ decision not to pursue him during the summer.
“I’m a big fan of this lad,” Merson told Sky Sports. “He’s the type of striker Arsenal are missing—someone who can link play, spread the game, and open space for players like Odegaard and Saka. Arsenal should have broken the bank for him.”
As Haaland looks to regain his form and City seek stability, Isak’s rise continues to captivate fans and pundits alike. The debate over who truly reigns supreme among Premier League strikers is far from settled.
