After being linked with the 28-year-old in the summer, Chiefs are reportedly preparing to reignite their pursuit during the upcoming January transfer window.
Nwabali, who ultimately signed a new three-year deal with Chippa United earlier this year, has been a standout performer this season.
He has kept four clean sheets in 11 matches, contributing significantly to his team’s solid performance in the Betway Premiership, where they currently sit sixth on the table under Kwanele Kopo’s management.
Kaizer Chiefs’ Defensive Struggles
Kaizer Chiefs have struggled defensively this season, conceding 13 goals—more than any other team in the South African top-flight—and failing to secure a single clean sheet.
Despite rotating through three goalkeepers, the Amakhosi have yet to find a consistent solution between the posts.
According to Soccer Laduma, Chiefs have been impressed with Nwabali’s consistency and leadership at the back, prompting them to revisit the possibility of bringing him to Naturena when the transfer window reopens next month.
Nwabali’s addition could provide the much-needed stability in goal for a Kaizer Chiefs side eager to strengthen their squad and climb the league standings.
