United’s season under new boss Ruben Amorim has been a mixed bag, with a stunning derby victory over Manchester City offset by disappointing results against Ipswich Town and Nottingham Forest.
To strengthen Amorim’s evolving squad, the January transfer window could bring reinforcements.
While United might explore bolstering their wing-back options, adding attacking firepower remains a priority. PSG’s Kolo Muani has emerged as a key target.
The French forward joined PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023 for €75m (£64.2m) plus €15m (£12.2m) in add-ons but has struggled to make an impact.
With just 11 goals in 54 appearances, he was recently omitted from PSG’s squad for their match against Monaco.
PSG manager Luis Enrique declined to elaborate on the player’s future, stating, “My decisions say it all, even if they can change.”
Reports from L’Equipe suggest RB Leipzig is also in the mix, but PSG is open to a loan deal with a mandatory purchase clause next summer.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain. The 27-year-old forward, who has started only two of United’s last six games, recently admitted he is “ready for a new challenge.” Despite this, Amorim is keen for Rashford to stay.
“This club needs big talent, and Marcus is a big talent,” Amorim said. “My focus is to help him perform at the highest level.
We are better with Marcus Rashford, and we’re doing everything to push him back to his best.”
As January approaches, United could see both arrivals and departures, with Kolo Muani potentially leading the charge in reshaping Amorim’s squad.
