Ademola Lookman proudly showcased his African Player of the Year award ahead of Atalanta’s Serie A showdown against Empoli on Sunday night.

The Nigerian forward, who received the prestigious honor last week in Marrakech, Morocco, was met with applause from the Gewiss Stadium crowd.
Atalanta’s head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, also had a moment of recognition, presenting his Manager of the Month award before the kickoff.
The evening only got better for Atalanta, as they edged out Empoli in a gripping 3-2 victory. Lookman played a pivotal role, scoring La Dea’s second goal of the night.
The 27-year-old winger has been in sensational form, contributing 12 goals and five assists in 20 appearances across all competitions this season.
Atalanta’s incredible form continues, with Gasperini’s men now riding an 11-game league-winning streak that sees them sitting at the top of the Serie A standings.
