Osimhen, who joined the Turkish Super Lig champions on loan in September, could potentially leave the club as early as January due to a break clause in his contract.

Speaking to Fanatik, Buruk shared his admiration for the Nigerian forward and his hope that Osimhen remains with the team.

“I would love for Osimhen’s transfer to become permanent,” he said. “As a technical director and a fan, it’s something I truly wish for.”

Although Osimhen is contracted to stay at Galatasaray until the end of the season, his loan deal allows him the option to leave during the winter transfer window. However, Buruk emphasized that both the club and player need to remain focused on the current season.

“He has expressed no desire to leave mid-season and continues to confirm this,” Buruk noted. “It’s important not to pressure the player or disrupt his focus during this period. Decisions about his future can be made later in the season when the timing is right.”

Buruk also highlighted the economic implications of pursuing a permanent transfer, stating that the club’s management will need to carefully evaluate their options.

“Our chairman and managers are keen to keep him, but we must approach this with caution to ensure we do what’s best for both the player and the club,” he added.

The Galatasaray boss revealed his longstanding admiration for Osimhen who is highly sought after by clubs worldwide. “Everyone wants Osimhen on their team,” Buruk said.

“When his name was mentioned, I immediately agreed without hesitation. I started thinking about how to integrate him into our system right away.”

Buruk explained how Osimhen’s arrival influenced the team’s tactics, considering formations like 3-4-2-1 and 4-4-2 to accommodate the striker’s unique qualities. “We adapted quickly because his talent and impact are undeniable,” he concluded.

With Osimhen’s future hanging in the balance, Galatasaray faces a crucial decision in the coming months. Fans will be watching closely to see if the club can hold on to their prized forward beyond January.
