Ruben Amorim is under pressure to offload two more Manchester United players after Marcus Rashford’s expected departure.
Rashford, a United player since age seven, is reportedly seeking a fresh challenge after a dip in form since his stellar 2022-23 season, during which he scored 30 goals under Erik ten Hag.
Arsenal and West Ham have expressed interest, but the 27-year-old is likely to move abroad, initially on loan, with a permanent transfer in the summer.
Ex-United defender Paul Parker believes Rashford shouldn’t be the only one leaving during the January transfer window.
Parker suggests Antony and Christian Eriksen should also be moved on.
Antony, signed for £82m from Ajax in 2022, has struggled to impress, scoring only five goals.
Similarly, Eriksen’s performance has waned since joining the club in the same transfer window.
Speaking to Metro, Parker said: “Antony needs to go. If the manager doesn’t believe in a player, they must leave.
Amorim has already proven himself in Portugal and must be backed. Players who won’t suit his system will only breed resentment if they remain.
Antony’s lack of involvement and distance from home will only worsen his frustrations.”
On Eriksen, Parker added: “At his age, Eriksen needs regular game time. A stop-start role hampers his rhythm.
It’s better for him to find a club where he can play consistently, even if it means adjusting his training schedule.”
While Antony and Eriksen face uncertain futures, midfielder Casemiro has also been linked with a transfer.
However, Parker wants Casemiro to stay, believing he can thrive with the right support. “Casemiro reads the game well and has quality passing.
With better players around him, his impact would be even greater,” Parker explained.
As Amorim looks to shape his squad, the January transfer window could mark significant changes for Manchester United.
