Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku has caught the eye of Bayern Munich, with negotiations already underway for a potential transfer.

However, Chelsea has made it clear they will only entertain offers of £65 million or more for the 25-year-old, who joined the club in 2023 for £52 million from RB Leipzig.

Nkunku has struggled for consistent game time, starting just three Premier League matches this season.

While the French forward has expressed a desire for more minutes, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has prioritized maintaining team balance over accommodating his surplus of attacking talent.

Reports from The Telegraph and RMC Sport suggest Nkunku is open to the idea of joining Bayern. Should the deal materialize, Chelsea is prepared to reinvest in a versatile attacker who can operate both on the left flank and centrally.

Bayern, meanwhile, faces its own internal transfer saga as Chelsea has also expressed interest in Mathys Tel, a 19-year-old forward in Bayern’s ranks.

Tel, signed from Rennes for £25 million in 2022, has seen limited Bundesliga action this season, but Bayern’s sporting director Christoph Freund reaffirmed the club’s commitment to the young talent.

“Mathys is a great talent and an important part of our squad,” Freund said. “Our clear goal is for him to make his breakthrough here.”

While Chelsea looks to offload Nkunku and strengthen their attack, Bayern remains steadfast in their long-term plans for Tel, making the January transfer window a pivotal period for both clubs.
