Wolves may be without their talisman Matheus Cunha for Monday’s Premier League match against Chelsea, as the forward battles illness.

Cunha, 25, recently returned from a two-match suspension during Wolves’ 3-0 loss to Newcastle United on Wednesday. However, his fitness is now a concern ahead of the trip to Stamford Bridge.

This season, Cunha has been a standout performer with 10 goals and 4 assists in 20 league appearances. Speaking on Friday, Wolves manager Pereira said, “Today, he was out of training because he’s got a flu.

He is a bit sick, but I hope tomorrow he will be on the pitch. If he trains, there’s a chance he’ll play the next game.”

Pereira also provided updates on other players. Nelson Semedo is back in training, while Toti Gomes is recovering well and may return in a week.

Meanwhile, Boubacar Traore is training with the squad after a knee injury, and Sasa Kalajdzic continues working with the medical team.

Wolves are 17th in the Premier League, level on points with 18th-placed Ipswich but out of the relegation zone due to superior goal scoring. They are winless in their last three league games.

Chelsea, also struggling, are without a win in five league matches. Manager Enzo Maresca may face his own selection woes, with Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez, Levi Colwill, and Romeo Lavia all doubtful for Monday’s game.

With both teams desperate to end their winless streaks, Monday’s clash promises to be a pivotal battle.
