Noni Madueke hilariously trolled his Chelsea teammate Trevoh Chalobah after stealing what should have been his goal in Monday’s 3-1 win against Wolves.

Chalobah, making his return to Chelsea’s starting XI after a loan spell at Crystal Palace, delivered a stellar Man of the Match performance.

The 25-year-old defender came close to scoring Chelsea’s third goal, but Madueke pounced to finish the job, much to Chalobah’s dismay.

“It’s just instinct, an attacker’s instinct,” Madueke explained to Sky Sports about his decisive move. “I said sorry to Trev after, but I had to put it in the net.

It’s great for him, though—an assist on his first game back! He was saying, ‘No way you took my goal!’ and I told him, ‘Bro, this is what they pay me to do!’”

Former Chelsea player Emmanuel Petit weighed in on the situation, saying, “Strikers care about stats and can be selfish. I’m happy for Madueke, fair enough, but he could’ve let the ball go in.”

Despite the playful teasing, Madueke couldn’t help but heap praise on Chalobah. “He was unbelievable—his leadership, bravery on the ball, and character stood out. He slotted in seamlessly, and I’m so happy for him.

Players like him and Reece [James] made the difference tonight. They’re Chelsea through and through, and their leadership helped us secure this win.”

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca echoed these sentiments, adding, “Tosin, Trev, and all of them were fantastic. They hadn’t played in a while, but the overall performance was great.”

The match not only showcased Chelsea’s strong team dynamic but also highlighted the return of key players contributing to their success.
