Chelsea are exploring a potential move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic before the January transfer window closes, as reported by The Times.
The 24-year-old Serbian forward, who has netted 53 goals in 125 appearances for Juventus since his £66 million transfer from Fiorentina in 2022, could be available as the Italian club seeks to cut its wage bill.
Juve’s willingness to sell comes as Chelsea searches for a new striker amidst plans to offload Christopher Nkunku.
The French forward, valued by Chelsea at £65 million, has struggled to make an impact this season with only three Premier League starts. Bayern Munich has shown interest in Nkunku but remains hesitant about Chelsea’s valuation.
In parallel, Chelsea has advanced negotiations with Juventus over midfielder Renato Veiga, a player also targeted by Borussia Dortmund.
While Chelsea initially acquired Veiga from FC Basel for £12 million last summer, the club is open to a permanent sale if their £29 million asking price is met, promising a substantial profit.
Vlahovic, who has scored 12 goals across all competitions this season, has faced scrutiny over his future at Juventus following two controversial incidents. In November, he subtly criticized Juve’s head coach, Thiago Motta, by claiming he thrives better for Serbia due to reduced defensive duties.
“Coach Stojkovic hasn’t tasked me with heavy defensive work. For a player of my build, I can’t run excessively—it affects my finishing,” Vlahovic remarked.
The striker also had a heated exchange with Juve fans last month after a disappointing 2-2 draw against relegation-threatened Venezia, further fueling speculation about his departure.
Arsenal, who previously pursued Vlahovic before his Juventus move, are not expected to revive their interest despite their ongoing search for an attacking option.
Chelsea’s active pursuit of squad reinforcements and sales could make this transfer window pivotal as they aim to reshape their squad and secure long-term success.
