Former Super Eagles forward Victor Ikpeba has expressed confidence in new head coach Eric Chelle’s ability to guide the Nigerian team to success at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
The Super Eagles, aiming for their fourth AFCON title, are drawn in Group D alongside Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania. They begin their campaign against Tanzania in the opening group-stage fixture.
Eric Chelle, who previously led Mali to the quarter-finals at AFCON 2023 in Côte d’Ivoire, has been lauded for his deep understanding of African football.
Ikpeba, speaking with Super Sport, highlighted Chelle’s potential to bring out the best in the Super Eagles.
“He’s a young coach with solid knowledge of African football,” Ikpeba said. “I believe he will get the best out of the Super Eagles and deliver a good performance.”
