However, Arteta remains confident in his choice, praising Merino’s determination and recent performances. The 28-year-old has struggled with injuries but showed strong form when fit.
Arteta acknowledged Merino’s recent setbacks but emphasized the midfielder’s character and commitment, noting that his “rhythm” and “momentum” have improved significantly.
Despite missing Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Wolves, Merino is back to full fitness and available for the upcoming match against Manchester City.
