Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has declared his team’s ambition to win the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, determined to make up for their heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Côte d’Ivoire in the 2023 final.

Nigeria, placed in Group C, will battle 2004 champions Tunisia, along with Uganda and Tanzania, in the group stage. With three AFCON titles (1980, 1994, 2013) to their name, the West African giants are eager to add another trophy to their collection.

Chelle is confident his squad has the motivation and quality to go all the way this time. Speaking to Cafonline, he acknowledged the challenge ahead: “Winning won’t be easy with 24 strong teams and top coaches in the tournament. But I have a team that wants revenge, and I do too. We’re going to enjoy this journey.”

With their objective set on lifting the trophy, Nigeria will kick off their AFCON campaign against Tanzania’s Taifa Stars in Fez on Tuesday, December 23.
