Casemiro’s time at Manchester United appears to be winding down, but the Brazilian midfielder has no intention of leaving before the season ends.
Once a key figure in Erik ten Hag’s setup, the 32-year-old has seen his role drastically reduced under new boss Ruben Amorim, who prefers a high-intensity playing style.
With Manuel Ugarte and youngster Toby Collyer ahead of him in the pecking order, Casemiro has been left on the bench for eight of United’s last 10 league matches.
Despite being linked with Roma, Premier League clubs, and Saudi Arabian teams, Casemiro has chosen to stay at Old Trafford for now.
He reportedly understands Amorim’s preference for younger, more dynamic players and has gracefully accepted his reduced role.
Amorim recently explained his decision, stating, “Casemiro has incredible intelligence and understanding of the game, but our team needs a different intensity. Sometimes, characteristics determine who plays.”
Casemiro, however, remains committed to United during this turbulent period. The midfielder reportedly wants to repay the fans for their unwavering support and will wait for his chance to contribute before likely leaving in the summer.
With Amorim making sweeping changes, Casemiro isn’t the only veteran seeing reduced minutes—Christian Eriksen and even Marcus Rashford have also been impacted.
The question now is whether Casemiro can force his way back into Amorim’s plans or if his Old Trafford career is already over.
