Manchester United’s rising star Alejandro Garnacho could be on his way out before the transfer window shuts, with Chelsea keeping a close eye on the situation. The Argentine winger, once seen as a future club legend, has faced a turbulent season, with inconsistent performances raising doubts about his long-term role at Old Trafford.

Despite being sidelined for a key Manchester derby, Garnacho worked his way back into manager Ruben Amorim’s plans and has featured in all of United’s January fixtures. His latest contribution came in a Europa League victory over Steaua Bucuresti, where he helped secure a 2-0 win after a lackluster first half.

However, speculation is mounting that this could have been his final appearance for the club. Manchester United are reportedly open to selling him before Monday’s deadline, with Chelsea exploring a surprise deal.

Former United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has expressed serious concerns over the potential sale, emphasizing the importance of keeping young talents at the club.

“They might need the money to reinforce the squad, but you’d expect them to hold on to such brilliant players,” he said.

On the other hand, ex-United striker Louis Saha believes selling Garnacho could be a smart business move. He argues that academy players like Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo represent pure profit in financial terms, making them attractive assets for a sale. Saha remains unconvinced about their world-class potential and suggests that a lucrative offer should be considered.

Meanwhile, United’s European campaign remains a silver lining in an otherwise disappointing season. They finished third in their Europa League group, trailing Lazio and Athletic Bilbao, but remain unbeaten in the competition. Domestically, however, they continue to struggle, sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table.

As the transfer deadline looms, all eyes will be on Manchester United to see if they hold on to Garnacho—or cash in on one of their brightest prospects.
