Chelsea have accepted Tottenham’s loan offer for Axel Disasi, but the French defender is pushing for a move to Aston Villa instead. The 26-year-old has struggled for game time this season, making just six Premier League appearances, and is eager for a fresh start.
However, Chelsea see Villa as a direct rival for Champions League qualification and are reluctant to strengthen Unai Emery’s side.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Disasi has already agreed personal terms with Villa, but unless Chelsea change their stance, he may have to reconsider Spurs’ offer.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have bolstered their defense by signing Kevin Danso from Lens in a £20.9m deal.
Danso was initially set to join Wolves on loan, but a last-minute U-turn allowed Spurs to swoop in.
Speaking after Tottenham’s 2-0 win over Brentford, manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed the club is still looking for reinforcements. “We don’t want to bring just anyone in, and sometimes that takes a bit longer. I’m really pleased we got Kevin in, and if we can find another one, that’d be great.”
With the transfer window closing at 11 PM on Monday, all eyes are on Chelsea, Spurs, and Villa to see where Disasi will end up.
