Tottenham’s frantic deadline-day dealings saw them chase big names, only to face rejection at every turn. Their ambitious moves for Mathys Tel, Fikayo Tomori, and Axel Disasi collapsed, leaving them scrambling for alternatives.

Still, they managed to hijack Wolves’ move for Kevin Danso, addressing their defensive woes.

But Spurs weren’t done yet. Reports surfaced that they made a bold £70m bid for Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, only to see it swiftly turned down.

The 24-year-old England international has been on the radar of Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United, with Newcastle also attempting to sign him last summer.

Palace’s reluctance to let Guehi go stems from their struggle to secure him on a new contract. With his deal running until 2026, they now demand at least £40m, a significant markup from the £18m they paid Chelsea in 2021.

Meanwhile, the Blues are keen on bringing their academy graduate back to Stamford Bridge.

Though Guehi remains at Selhurst Park for now, his future will likely dominate the summer window.

In the meantime, Palace is set to bring in Ben Chilwell on loan from Chelsea, provided he clears his deadline-day medical.
