Rio Ferdinand Urges Manchester United to Give Paul Pogba a Trial

Rio Ferdinand has urged Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim to offer Paul Pogba a chance to train with the squad, allowing the club to assess his fitness and potential impact.

Pogba, currently a free agent, mutually terminated his Juventus contract last year after serving an 18-month doping ban. The 31-year-old is now free to resume training and will be eligible to play again in March.

Despite rumors linking him to MLS and Saudi Arabian clubs, Ferdinand believes United should consider a move. Speaking on Rio Presents, he said, “I’d say come in, get fit, and let’s have a little look.”

Pogba previously teased a possible return to Old Trafford with a cryptic social media post. However, there have been no formal talks between the club and his representatives.

United’s transfer strategy has shifted toward younger, lower-cost players, making a Pogba reunion unlikely. But with injuries and departures leaving gaps in the squad, Ferdinand insists a short-term deal shouldn’t be ruled out.
