Ruben Amorim is eyeing key reinforcements for Manchester United this summer, with highly-rated teenager Geovany Quenda expected to join the squad.
United had a quiet January transfer window, only bringing in wing-back Patrick Dorgu, despite a pressing need for attacking options. With Marcus Rashford spending the rest of the season on loan at Aston Villa, Amorim is left relying on Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

Although Zirkzee finally got on the scoresheet in United’s FA Cup victory over Leicester, the team still lacks depth in wide positions.
To address this, Amorim is pushing for the signing of Quenda, a 17-year-old winger he previously worked with at Sporting Lisbon.

Reports indicate United have already struck a £50 million agreement with Sporting, and former Southampton defender José Fonte believes Quenda could quickly become a fan favorite at Old Trafford.
“Geovany Quenda is just 17, but he has blistering pace. He’s the kind of player who gets the ball and runs straight at defenders—no hesitation, no passing backward,” Fonte said in an interview with Boyle Sports. “He’s a throwback to how United played under Sir Alex Ferguson, constantly attacking and putting defenders under pressure.”

Fonte emphasized Quenda’s ability to create chances and unsettle defenses, saying, “In the final third, he knows exactly what he wants to do.
Defenders often have to double up on him because of his speed and left-footed ability. He’s already causing havoc in Portugal and could do the same in the Premier League.”
Meanwhile, Fonte also praised Leny Yoro, another rising talent who has faced early challenges in his career. Recalling their time together at Lille, Fonte noted, “He was just 16 when he started playing senior football, which is incredible for a defender.
It’s a tough position where mistakes can be costly, but he had a coach in Paulo Fonseca who gave him the confidence to grow.”
As United look ahead to the summer transfer window, Quenda’s arrival could signal a return to the kind of dynamic, attacking football fans have been craving.
