Omar Marmoush made a statement in Manchester City colors, delivering a sensational 14-minute first-half hat trick against Newcastle United.
The Egyptian forward, who arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt with 20 goals to his name, tore apart the opposition, propelling City to a dominant victory while Newcastle suffered their 16th consecutive Premier League defeat at the Etihad.
One City supporter, reflecting on the first half, called it the best 45 minutes of football he had seen all season—and it was difficult to argue. When Guardiola’s side reaches this level, their title ambitions look very much alive.

With 15 minutes remaining, Marmoush’s memorable night ended as Guardiola subbed him off to a standing ovation.
The manager lauded his performance, saying, “Three goals – we knew his quality. His numbers in Germany were impressive.
Hopefully, he stays grounded with all the praise. When you play well, adaptation comes naturally.”
Alongside him, Nico González shone in midfield, filling the void left by Rodri. Guardiola likened him to a “mini-Rodri,” acknowledging that while he is not yet at that level, his ability to win duels and dictate play will be crucial for City’s run-in.
Haaland also made his presence felt, surging into Newcastle’s box before Dan Burn’s last-ditch tackle denied him. But there was no stopping City’s relentless attack.
Marmoush’s first goal was a moment of sheer brilliance—goalkeeper Ederson launched a pinpoint 50-yard pass, Trippier misjudged it, and as Dubravka charged out, Marmoush calmly chipped into the open net.
It was Ederson’s sixth Premier League assist—the most for a goalkeeper—and Marmoush wasn’t done yet. His second goal showcased his technical ability as he received a pass from Gündogan, took a touch past Trippier, and drilled a shot past Dubravka at the near post.
Newcastle briefly threatened, with Isak nearly capitalizing on a City defensive lapse, but Stones’ intervention steered the ball wide. Any hopes of a comeback, as Feyenoord managed at the Etihad, quickly faded.
City pressed on mercilessly. Foden found Savinho, who breezed past Hall and set up Marmoush for his third. Newcastle’s attempt to respond saw Livramento outshine Trippier down the right, but Murphy’s cross was cleared.
Haaland continued his battle with Burn, even muscling down Bruno Guimarães at one point. Near the end, the Norwegian’s clever flick set up James McAtee for a stunning volley, sealing a commanding win for City.
Guardiola’s men had delivered a masterclass, and Marmoush had firmly announced himself on the Premier League stage.
