Despite receiving a red card during Liverpool’s heated 2-2 draw with Everton in the Merseyside derby, Arne Slot will still be on the touchline for Sunday’s match against Wolves.
While the Liverpool head coach has been charged by the Football Association (FA), he has not yet been sanctioned, allowing him to continue leading his team.
Slot’s dismissal came in the chaotic aftermath of Everton’s 98th-minute equalizer, which led to a mass brawl and red cards for Curtis Jones, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Slot, and his assistant Sipke Hulshoff.

The Premier League initially reported that Slot would serve a two-game touchline ban, but that statement was later removed, leaving his fate undecided.
The FA must first review the referee’s report and allow Slot and Liverpool to respond before issuing any punishment.
The governing body released a statement on Friday explaining that both clubs, as well as Slot and Hulshoff, had been charged with improper conduct, but they have until Wednesday, February 19, to submit their responses.
Because the FA cannot impose any sanctions until then, Slot remains eligible to lead his team against Wolves. A possible hearing or appeal process could further delay any punishment, meaning a ban might not come into effect for several weeks.
Slot has already served one touchline ban this season after accumulating three yellow cards, making a two-game suspension a likely outcome.
If enforced, this could see him miss crucial upcoming fixtures, including matches against Aston Villa, Manchester City, and Newcastle.
Speaking ahead of the Wolves match, Slot admitted he lost control of his emotions in the intense derby atmosphere.
“I think 99 percent of the time I can cope with my emotions quite well,” he told Sky Sports. “But it’s clear that I couldn’t cope well enough during and especially after the game.
“If I could do it over again, of course, I would act differently. It wasn’t smart because I didn’t help anyone with that. But emotions took over after those seven or eight minutes.”
While Slot may still face disciplinary action, for now, he remains in the dugout as Liverpool look to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.
