Chelsea’s Premier League title hopes under manager Enzo Maresca are in question, with Nigel Reo-Coker singling out goalkeeper Robert Sanchez as a potential weak link. Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday saw Sanchez face criticism, particularly for his role in Curtis Jones’ winning goal, where he failed to fully control the midfielder’s close-range effort.

While Sanchez has been praised for his shot-stopping ability, Reo-Coker pointed out that his lapses in concentration and mistakes make him a liability. He believes Chelsea will struggle to challenge for the Premier League title with Sanchez in goal, highlighting their vulnerability when playing out from the back against high-pressing teams.

Additionally, Reo-Coker noted that Chelsea’s midfield looked more solid with the partnership of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, a combination he found more effective than when Enzo Fernandez, who was brought on as a second-half substitute, is on the field. This raised further questions about Fernandez’s role, particularly after being named club captain earlier in the season.
