Everton is reportedly eyeing a move for AC Milan and Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze in the upcoming January transfer window. Under manager Sean Dyche, the Toffees currently sit 16th in the Premier League, struggling with their attack after scoring just nine goals in their first eight matches.

Chukwueze has found himself primarily on the bench at Milan, where he has been overshadowed by the impressive performances of Christian Pulisic, leading to only two starts in all competitions. According to Football Insider, Everton has identified the Nigerian winger as their primary target to bolster their right-wing options.

However, securing a deal for Chukwueze may prove challenging, as it is unlikely that AC Milan will agree to part ways with him mid-season. In anticipation of this potential setback, Everton is also considering Bologna forward Santiago Castro as an alternative option.

Financially, a move for Chukwueze poses no significant hurdles for Everton, as the club is expected to have substantial backing from The Friedkin Group, who are in the process of acquiring Farhad Moshiri’s 94.1% stake in the club. The prospective new owners aim to elevate Everton beyond relegation battles, prioritizing squad strengthening as they prepare for the upcoming transfer window.

As it stands, Everton’s challenging start to the season, with only one win from their first seven fixtures, underscores the urgency for strategic reinforcements.
