Dimitar Berbatov has called on Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund to adopt a more aggressive mindset ahead of Thursday’s Europa League clash against Fenerbahce. Hojlund, who has scored 18 goals in 49 appearances since joining from Atalanta for £72m, has faced injury challenges and is eager to elevate his game.
Berbatov emphasized that Hojlund should be more demanding on the pitch. “As a striker, he needs to be more demanding and arguing… asking for the ball,” Berbatov stated on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel. He noted that Hojlund’s runs behind defenses often go unnoticed, which should fuel his frustration.
Meanwhile, United manager Erik ten Hag highlighted the importance of Hojlund maintaining his fitness, stating, “He will always score… What is important is he is keeping fit.” Hojlund netted the winner in United’s last match against Brentford but has played only six times this season due to a hamstring issue.
