After an 18-month ban for doping offenses was reduced from four years following his appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Pogba is eager to get his career back on track.

He will be eligible to resume training in January 2025 and can return to competitive play by March. Pogba, who rejoined Juventus in the summer of 2022 after leaving Manchester United, has struggled significantly in Turin, making only 12 appearances since his return.

The club now faces a crucial decision on whether to reintegrate him into the first team or seek a transfer. Bacary Sagna, a fellow Frenchman, has expressed a strong desire to see Pogba back in the Premier League, particularly at Arsenal.

Sagna believes that the Premier League suits Pogba’s playing style and feels that the midfielder would be an excellent fit for the youthful Arsenal squad.

He commented, “I would love to see him join Arsenal. It would be great—he has experience; he loves to play with young players around him—that is when he is most efficient.”

Sagna highlighted Pogba’s standout performance during the 2018 World Cup, where he excelled in a supportive environment filled with teammates he enjoyed playing alongside.

The former Arsenal player continued, “Arsenal has a young, fresh team, and I see him performing in an Arsenal shirt. He will get love from their fans.” Sagna emphasized that this could be a fresh start for Pogba, who has had a difficult time away from football, suggesting that he will return with a renewed desire to excel.

Pogba made headlines in 2016 when he became the most expensive footballer in history, with Manchester United paying £89 million to bring him back from Juventus. However, his second stint at Old Trafford was marred by inconsistency and challenges, resulting in a largely underwhelming tenure.

While options such as moves to the MLS or Saudi Arabia have been floated, Pogba appears to be focused on regaining his position within the French national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

After his ban was reduced, Pogba issued a heartfelt statement, expressing relief at the decision. “Finally, the nightmare is over. I can look forward to the day when I can follow my dreams again,” he stated.

He reiterated his stance on the doping charges, asserting, “I always stated that I never knowingly breached World Anti-Doping Agency regulations when I took a nutritional supplement prescribed to me by a doctor, which does not affect or enhance the performance of male athletes.”

Pogba concluded by thanking the Court of Arbitration for Sport for hearing his case, reflecting on the distressing period he has endured: “This has been a hugely distressing period in my life because everything I have worked so hard for has been put on hold.”

As he looks to the future, the potential for a Premier League return adds an exciting chapter to Pogba’s career.
