Manchester United are contemplating sending Antony out on loan during the January transfer window, as multiple Premier League clubs have inquired about the winger’s availability, according to reports from Brazil.

The 24-year-old, who joined United from Ajax for an initial fee of €95 million (£82 million) in 2022, has struggled to find his footing in the Premier League. In his two seasons at Old Trafford, he has netted just 11 goals and has yet to start a match in either the Premier League or the Europa League this season.

Reports from Goal Brazil indicate that United are open to the idea of a loan move for Antony, who is eager for more playing time but wishes to remain in Europe. Ajax, his former club, has also discussed the possibility of re-signing him, though they reportedly have some reservations about bringing him back.

When asked about Antony’s situation last month, manager Erik ten Hag acknowledged the player’s impatience, saying, “He wants to play. But in top football, there are laws. You pick the team that has the best chance to win the game, with the best dynamic and chemistry. Players have to fight for their positions.”

Ten Hag emphasized that other players are currently performing well, which makes it essential for Antony to earn his spot in the squad through training and competition.

As Manchester United prepares for their Europa League match against Fenerbahce in Turkey, Antony has traveled with the squad, keeping the door open for any potential loan discussions to gain much-needed playing time in the coming months.
