Former Premier League manager Tim Sherwood has delivered a bold verdict on Liverpool’s future with Trent Alexander-Arnold, stating that the club has “no chance” of keeping the talented right-back. Speaking on a recent football show, Sherwood suggested that Alexander-Arnold could be on his way out of Anfield as interest from top European clubs continues to grow.

“He’s gone,” Sherwood said bluntly when discussing the possibility of Liverpool holding onto their star defender. “There’s no chance Liverpool will be able to keep him if the big clubs come knocking. A player of his quality and versatility is in high demand, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already being targeted by the biggest teams in Europe.”

Sherwood pointed to the 25-year-old’s growing stature in world football and his ability to influence games from right-back as reasons why he could be lured away by offers from elite clubs. With Alexander-Arnold’s attacking prowess and playmaking abilities, he has become a vital component of Liverpool’s success under Jürgen Klopp. However, Sherwood believes that financial pressures and the lure of new challenges could lead to his departure.

“Liverpool have been through a bit of a rebuild phase, but if they can’t offer the level of success or wages that other clubs might, I can see him moving on,” Sherwood added. He also emphasized that Alexander-Arnold’s ambition to play at the very top level and potentially explore new leagues could fuel a possible exit.

Although there has been no formal indication from either Alexander-Arnold or Liverpool about a departure, Sherwood’s comments add to the ongoing speculation surrounding the defender’s future. As one of the most talented right-backs in the world, Alexander-Arnold’s next steps could play a significant role in shaping the future of both Liverpool and European football.
