Sergio Aguero, the former Barcelona and Manchester City striker, is set to sue Barcelona over approximately €3 million (around ₦5 billion) in unpaid wages.
Aguero joined Barcelona in the summer of 2021 but had to retire early due to a heart condition just months after his arrival, which led to him forgoing the second year of his contract. Despite this agreement, he has not received his owed salary for the time he played at the club
Barcelona initially accepted the responsibility to pay him; however, a request for payment was denied by an insurance company, prompting the club to withhold the funds.
Aguero is reportedly seeking a resolution through legal means but would prefer to settle the matter out of court to avoid further negative publicity for the club, which is already facing financial challenges
