PSV endured a nightmare in Eindhoven as Arsenal handed them a historic 7-1 thrashing, leaving manager Peter Bosz and his players in shock. The Dutch side, who had hopes of upsetting the Premier League giants after knocking out Juventus, were completely outclassed in front of their home fans.

Things could have started differently when Ismail Saibari hit the crossbar early on, but from then on, Arsenal took control. Jurrien Timber opened the scoring, followed by goals from Ethan Nwaneri and Mikel Merino, making it 3-0 before halftime.

A stunned Bosz admitted his side had no answers. “Painful. Was it humiliating? Yes. Was it a surprise? Yes,” he said in the post-match press conference. “We had no chance tonight. Football-wise, we had no answer.”

Captain Luuk de Jong didn’t hold back in his assessment: “Arsenal was just too good today. We took blow after blow after blow. When you make mistakes against a Premier League club, you get punished.”

Despite the heavy loss, PSV must regroup quickly with crucial Eredivisie games ahead and a second leg at the Emirates next week—though few believe they can overturn this deficit.
