Bayer Leverkusen suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in their UEFA Champions League round of 16 first-leg clash at the Allianz Arena. Despite being named in the squad, Nigerian duo Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella remained on the bench as Leverkusen struggled against the German giants.
Harry Kane opened the scoring in the ninth minute, giving Bayern an early advantage. Leverkusen found themselves further behind when Jamal Musiala struck in the 54th minute, doubling the hosts’ lead. Any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Nordi Mukiele received a second yellow card in the 62nd minute, reducing Leverkusen to 10 men.
Elsewhere, Liverpool secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes, courtesy of a late strike from Harvey Elliott. PSG dominated large parts of the game but failed to convert their chances.

In other Champions League results, 10-man Barcelona edged past Benfica with a 1-0 win, while Inter Milan secured a 2-0 victory over Feyenoord in Holland. The second-leg fixtures promise to be exciting, with teams looking to overturn deficits or consolidate their leads in the quest for a place in the quarter-finals.
