Luis Enrique was left frustrated after Paris Saint-Germain’s 1-0 loss to Liverpool in the Champions League but remains convinced his side will come out on top in the second leg at Anfield. Despite dominating possession and creating far more chances, PSG were undone by a late Harvey Elliott strike.

The French champions were relentless in attack, registering 27 shots to Liverpool’s two. Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz were kept quiet, while Alisson repeatedly denied PSG’s best efforts. Enrique admitted his disappointment with the result, calling it an injustice, but insisted his team will be ready for the return fixture.

Speaking after the game, Enrique expressed confidence in his squad, pointing out that Liverpool’s best player on the night was their goalkeeper. He praised his players for their performance and stressed that PSG had outplayed the Premier League leaders.

Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Arne Slot acknowledged PSG’s dominance, admitting his team was fortunate to come away with a victory. He highlighted moments where Liverpool had opportunities to exploit PSG’s defense but lacked the precision to capitalize.

With the second leg at Anfield just days away, both teams will turn their attention to domestic competitions. Liverpool hosts Southampton in the Premier League, while PSG travels to Rennes in Ligue 1 before heading to England for what promises to be a decisive and intense showdown.
