Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has raised doubts about Arsenal’s rumored interest in signing Raheem Sterling, suggesting the England international is past his best and will only decline further. Hamann’s comments come amid speculation linking the 29-year-old winger with a potential move to the Emirates.

In a recent interview, Hamann expressed skepticism over Sterling’s form in recent seasons, claiming the player’s performances have dropped significantly compared to his peak years. “Sterling has gone backwards in the last few years,” Hamann remarked. “He’s not the same player he was at Manchester City, and I don’t see him improving.”

Sterling, who currently plays for Chelsea, has faced criticism for inconsistent displays since joining the Blues, and Hamann believes that Arsenal should be cautious about investing in a player whose best days may be behind him. “He was once a top player, but his game has regressed. If Arsenal want to challenge for the Premier League title, they should be looking for players who can make an immediate impact, not someone who is on the decline,” Hamann added.

Despite his recent struggles, Sterling remains one of the most experienced and decorated wingers in the Premier League, with multiple league titles and international caps. However, Hamann’s remarks highlight concerns over whether Sterling can regain his top form, especially in a competitive team like Arsenal that is pushing for silverware.

As the Gunners weigh their options in the upcoming transfer windows, Sterling’s future at Chelsea and his potential link to Arsenal will continue to be a subject of debate among pundits and fans alike.
