Mitoma has been an ever-present figure in Brighton’s squad since Hurzeler’s arrival, playing a vital role in their attacking setup. Given his importance to the team, the club arranged scans earlier in the week to assess his condition. Fortunately, the results were positive, allowing him to return to action without any further issues. His availability comes as a boost for Brighton, who are pushing for a European spot this season.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Hurzeler provided an optimistic update on his squad’s fitness. “Kaoru Mitoma just had cramp, so he will be an option for tomorrow,” he said. “For the rest of the team, it’s the same. No new injuries. The options will be the same.” This means Brighton will have a fully fit squad to choose from as they prepare for a crucial encounter with Fulham.

Mitoma has been in fine form this season, contributing seven goals and three assists in the Premier League. His performances have been crucial in Brighton’s push for a top-six finish, even amid transfer speculation linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia during the January window. Despite the external distractions, he has remained focused and continues to deliver for the Seagulls.

Hurzeler emphasized the importance of his team maintaining focus and embracing the challenges ahead. “It’s very important we focus on our journey and that we really believe in it,” he said. “Yesterday I received a picture from a mountain. In a mountain, you always have new peaks to climb. That’s the goal for us—we have to climb new peaks.” His metaphor underlined the club’s ambition to keep progressing and pushing for greater achievements.

Brighton currently sit eighth in the table, just one point behind Newcastle in sixth, which is the final European qualification spot. With Fulham only one point behind in ninth, Saturday’s match could prove pivotal in determining which team stays in the race for continental football next season. A win would put Brighton in a strong position heading into the final stretch of the campaign.

Brighton’s European experience last season, where they reached the Europa League Round of 16, has only fueled their hunger for another continental campaign. The team has shown resilience and consistency, making them a strong contender for a top-six finish. With Mitoma back in action, they will look to capitalize on their momentum and strengthen their position in the table.

Saturday’s clash against Fulham presents a golden opportunity for Brighton to make a statement. Securing three points would not only boost their European hopes but also demonstrate their ability to compete at the highest level. With a fully fit squad and Mitoma ready to contribute, Hurzeler’s side will be eager to put in a commanding performance at the Amex Stadium.
