AC Milan stage comeback to beat Lecce in Serie A thriller

AC Milan ended their poor run of form in dramatic fashion, coming from two goals down to secure a thrilling 3-2 victory over Lecce in Serie A on Saturday. The win ended their four-match winless streak, which included a loss to Lazio last week, lifted them to eighth place with 44 points.

Lecce started brightly, taking the lead just seven minutes into the game through Nikola Krstovic. Milan, still reeling from their recent struggles, found themselves further behind when Krstovic doubled the visitors’ advantage in the 59th minute. At that point, it seemed like another frustrating evening was on the cards for the Rossoneri.

However, Milan responded with urgency, and an own goal by Antonino Gallo in the 68th minute gave them hope. That crucial moment shifted the momentum in their favor as they pushed for an equalizer. Five minutes later, Christian Pulisic converted from the penalty spot to bring Milan level at 2-2.

With just nine minutes remaining, Pulisic struck again, completing a stunning comeback and sealing all three points for Milan. His late heroics ensured a much-needed victory for the struggling side, relieving some pressure after a difficult run of results.

Upon planing to to reject permanent Joao Felix move, this result was vital for Milan, who had suffered three consecutive defeats before this match. The win not only lifted them in the standings but also restored confidence as they look to push for a stronger finish in the league.
