Thomas Tuchel will announce his first England squad on Friday, and four Crystal Palace players are in strong contention for selection. The new Three Lions boss, preparing for his debut on March 21 against Albania, has been closely monitoring players ahead of the squad announcement.
With key names like Bukayo Saka ruled out due to injury, Tuchel has drawn up a 55-man shortlist, which will be cut in half. Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson revealed that he and three of his teammates Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze, and Adam Wharton—have already been contacted by Tuchel.
“I’d love to get another cap,” said Henderson. “He [Tuchel] texted before the game, said he’d be watching, and wished me all the best. He also messaged Adam, Marc, and Ebs, so it’s nice to know he’s keeping an eye on us.”

Henderson has been in top form, keeping nine Premier League clean sheets this season. His Palace teammate, Wharton, is also expected to make the squad after impressing following his return from injury, amid interest from Manchester United, Arsenal, and Real Madrid.
Curiously, Henderson did not mention left-backs Tyrick Mitchell and Ben Chilwell, both strong candidates for selection given England’s limited options in that position. Chilwell, on loan at Palace, is well-known to Tuchel from their Chelsea days, making his inclusion a strong possibility.
As England begins a new chapter under Tuchel, the selection of multiple Palace players could be a sign of fresh opportunities for emerging talents.

Despite only recently returning to full fitness, Wharton has made an immediate impact in Palace’s midfield. Henderson praised his teammate’s composure, saying, “He’s taken it all in his stride. He’s been great since coming back, and he’s a top player with no ceiling.”
Tuchel’s squad selection will offer insight into his vision for England, with fresh faces expected alongside established stars. The inclusion of multiple Palace players suggests a willingness to reward in-form talent, setting the stage for a new era under the German manager.
