Chelsea is reportedly preparing a major push to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface, in the summer transfer window. With the Blues looking to bolster their attacking options, Boniface has emerged as a key target to provide competition for Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu.

Injuries to both Jackson and Guiu have left Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca short on striking options, forcing him to deploy Pedro Neto as a false nine in recent matches. As a result, the club is intensifying its efforts to bring in a reliable goal scorer, and Boniface has caught their attention.

According to reports from CaughtOffside (via TEAMtalk), Chelsea is determined to secure the 24-year-old’s signature, despite growing competition from several Premier League rivals. Manchester United and Arsenal are closely monitoring Boniface’s situation, while Newcastle United has shortlisted him as a potential replacement should they lose Alexander Isak.

Chelsea is well aware of the competition and is reportedly planning to initiate talks with both Boniface and Leverkusen in the near future. The Bundesliga champions are expected to demand around €70 million for the Nigerian international, a fee Chelsea may be willing to meet given their urgent need for a reliable goal scorer.

Boniface has been in impressive form for Leverkusen this season, scoring seven goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances. Across all competitions, he has netted 10 times in 20 matches, playing a crucial role in the club’s title challenge.

With Chelsea eager to improve their attacking options and Boniface proving his worth in Germany, this potential move could be one of the most significant transfers of the summer. If the Blues can fend off competition from their rivals, they may secure a striker capable of leading their frontline for years to come.
