Monaco, currently second in the table, enters the game with momentum, while Nice seeks to break a winless streak and improve their eighth-place standing.

Nice’s Season So Far

Under new manager Franck Haise, Nice has seen mixed results in the 2024-25 season, with two wins, four draws, and two losses in eight matches.

Their best recent performance was a resounding 8-0 victory over Saint-Étienne, but they’ve since struggled, drawing against Lens, Paris Saint-Germain, and Nantes.

After a narrow 1-0 Europa League loss to Ferencváros, Nice hopes to bounce back despite challenges, including a five-game home winless streak against Monaco stretching back to 2020.

Monaco’s Impressive Form

Monaco remains unbeaten this season, with eight wins and three draws across all competitions. A recent Champions League victory over Red Star Belgrade highlighted their offensive firepower, with Takumi Minamino netting twice in a 5-1 triumph.

Domestically, Monaco holds the second position, matching PSG in points but trailing in goal difference. Adi Hutter’s squad boasts the league’s best defensive record alongside Lens, conceding only four goals, and their impressive away form includes three wins in three away matches this season.

Team News

Nice will miss Terem Moffi due to an ACL injury, while Tanguy Ndomeble and Youssouf Ndayishimiye remain sidelined. Dante is a doubt following a back injury, and Morgan Sanson may miss out on the matchday squad.

Monaco will be without Edan Diop and Mamadou Coulibaly, with Jordan Teze serving a suspension and Folarin Balogun sidelined until November.

Mohammed Salisu may also miss the match, but Aleksandr Golovin is eyeing a starting spot after his recent Champions League appearance.

Predicted Starting Lineups

Nice: Bulka; Mendy, Bombito, Abdelmonem; Clauss, Boudaoui, Rosario, Abdi; Guessand, Boga, Moukoko

Monaco: Majecki; Vanderson, Singo, Kehrer, Henrique; Zakaria, Camara; Akliouche, Minamino, Golovin; Embolo

Monaco’s quality on the road this season may tip the scales, making them strong contenders to claim all three points in this derby and potentially hand Nice their first home loss of the season.
